Students will embark on a guided nature walk through the Botanic Gardens, where they will observe and collect samples of living things (plants, insects) and non-living things (rocks, soil) to understand the importance of Biodiversity. They will engage in group discussions to categorise and analyse their samples, understanding the significance of maintaining biodiversity for ecosystem balance and species interdependence. The tour concludes with a reflective discussion and Q&A session to solidify their understanding and encourage critical thinking.

Understanding cycles helps predict events and processes around us. This tour will allow the students to visit Marina Barrage to observe water management and the water cycle in action. They will learn about the components and stages of the water cycle, such as evaporation, condensation, and precipitation, through direct observation and simple experiments. By witnessing the practical applications of water management, students will gain a deeper understanding of how cycles work and their importance in our daily life.

Students will explore their immediate environment to discover where art can be found in everyday settings. They will observe street art, sculptures, and installations, and discuss how natural and man-made elements influence and inspire local artists’ creativity and artwork. Through guided discussions and interactive activities, students will learn to appreciate the connection between art and the environment, gaining insights into how artists interpret and reflect their surroundings through their art.

SINGAPORE PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE (ARTS)

Visit key locations around Singapore to explore how art is woven into the fabric of the city’s public space. Students will get to take a walk along the Singapore River, discovering public sculptures and murals that tell stories of Singapore’s past and present. The tour will also cover the Bras Basah Bugis precinct, known for its vibrant street art and historical landmarks. Through guided discussions and observational learning, students will gain insights into how art reflects Singapore’s cultural identity, historical events, and societal changes.
