Experience the festivities of Ramadan celebrated in the 1980s on this immersive character-led walking tour. Let’s relive the good old days through captivating stories of history, culture and the people who call Kampong Gelam home! 

Experience the rich traditions of Kampong Gelam and the festivities of Ramadan on this 5th edition of Gemilang Kampong Gelam 2.0! Accompanied by intriguing characters who once called the place home*, let’s weave through Muscat Street, Bussorah Street, and Kandahar Street, and go on a nostalgic journey from the past.

Discover lesser-known stories of this iconic precinct during its golden era; of early immigrants, the religious and cultural activities centered around Masjid Sultan, and the family businesses that have survived generations.

Of course, no festival is complete without food. Enjoy traditional local snacks such as Kacang Putih and Kuih-Muih. We’ll even give you a $10 food bazaar voucher so that you can partake in the Ramadan festivities together with the locals.

After the walking tour, take part in a Batik Painting on Coasters workshop by @artsbyhanisamaricar. Whether you’re a beginner or an art enthusiast, this workshop is the perfect way to explore this beautiful traditional art form and create your own masterpiece to take home.

Tour Highlights

KAMPONG WALKING TOUR (1.5 hrs) by Let’s Go Tour Singapore

1:00pm – Meet your tour guide and explore Kampong Gelam

2:30pm – End tour at 47 Sultan Gate

BATIK PAINTING ON COASTER WORKSHOP (1.5hrs) by @artsbyhanisamaricar

2:35PM – Introduction to Batik Painting. Learning the techniques and introducing the art materials

3:00PM – On the coasters provided, sketch intricate batik patterns, fill in the colours and background (if needed), add decorative dotting to create texture and depth.

3:55PM – Add final touches, photo-taking and closing session.

• Cancellations 48 hours prior to the tour will be refunded 100%.
• Cancellations 24 hours prior to the tour will be refunded 50%
• No cancellations or refunds for less than 24 hours to tour.

Minimum 4-Pax Departure Policy

Due to the min. requirement of 4 pax to proceed with the tour. Let’s Go Tour reserves the right to contact the customer to do a reschedule to another slot/day, should the number of guests for the tour selected is less than 4 pax.

Rain Policy

The Tour will continue to be conducted when there is light rain. In the event of a thunderstorm, a reschedule date will be provided.
